Service Held For Pioneer

Funeral services for Wilson Webster Fulk, 93-year-old Carnegie area pioneer, were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, at the local United Methodist church with Rev. E.T. Cooprider, pastor, officiating.

Fulk died Thursday in the Carnegie hospital after a long-time illness. Interment was in the Carnegie cemetery. W.W. Fulk was born December 13, 1878 in Richmond, Virginia. He moved with his parents, Phillip and Martha Fulk, to Missouri in 1890, then to Tonkowa, Oklahoma in 1896. He homesteaded at Alfalfa in 1902. He was married to the former Martha Elizabeth Martin January 18, 1905. He had resided in the Carnegie and Alfalfa community the past 70 years.

He was preceded in death by his wife in 1968 and a daughter, Jewel Gosselin, in 1957. Survivors include a son, Emery Fulk of Carnegie; a grandson, Donald, of Garland, Texas; and two great-granddaughters, Dawn Denis and Shawn, both of Garland.

Mrs. Webb Fulk, pioneer Carnegie resident, died April 17 in the Carnegie hospital where she had been a patient since April 5. She had been in ill health many years.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the First Methodist church with Rev. Larry Becker, pastor, officiating. Interment was in the Carnegie cemetery with Pitcher Funeral Home in charge.

Martha Elizabeth Martin was born March 17, 1883, at Henderson, to Mr. and Mrs. W.H.E. Martin. She moved with her parents to a farm near Alfalfa in October, 1901, and on January 18, 1905, was married to Wilson Webb Fulk. Two children were born to them. The daughter, Jewel Fulk Gosselin, preceded her in death October 9, 1957.

Mrs. Fulk had been a member of the Carnegie Methodist church since 1913, one of the longest continuous memberships in the local church. She also was a member of the Order of Eastern Star.

She is survived by the husband of the home at 5 East Second; the son, Emery of Carnegie; one grandson, Donald Fulk of Garland, Texas; two grand-children, Dawn Denise and Shawn of Garland; two sisters, Mrs. Roy Boyer of Carnegie, and Mrs. Bertha Gilbert of Oklahoma City, and other relatives.

Relatives here for the services were Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Tustison of Sentinel, Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Boyer and daughter of Mustang, Mr. and Mrs. Buford Coston of Midwest City, Mrs. Bertha Gilbert of Oklahoma City, Mrs. Ronnie Nemecek of Yukon, Mrs. Curtis McBride of Lawton, Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Nelson and sons of Willow, Okla., Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Childres and daughter of Enid, Mrs. Ethel Strome of Tonkawa, Mrs. Wayne Branham and sons and Mr. and Mrs. Orval McBride, Alfalfa, and Mr. and Mrs. Emitt Owen, Mr. and Mrs. George Richard and Mrs. Alton Kimbrell, all of Sentinel, all relatives of Mrs. Emery Fulk.
