Graveside Rites For L.D. Fowler Held Saturday

Graveside services for Louie D. Fowler, pioneer Carnegie resident, were held Saturday afternoon at the Carnegie cemetery with Rev. Gene Mathis, pastor of the New Harmony Baptist church, officiating. Pitcher Funeral Home was in charge of interment.

Fowler, a retired carpenter and painter, died Friday at his home in the southwest part of town. He had been an invalid the past ten years with the last few years having been spent in a wheel chair or in bed.

He was born November 10, 1881, at Springfield, Ill. He came to Carnegie in the early days, where he was a carpenter by trade.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Florida, in 1924. He was a member of the First Baptist church.

He is survived by a son, Burdette of Carnegie; a brother, Fred Fowler of Colcord, Okla., and a grandson, Kenneth Fowler, Carnegie.
