May 2011 Edna LaVern [Smith] Fite 1930 ~ 2011 LaVern Fite, 80, of Carnegie, OK passed away Sunday, May 22nd, 2011 at Corn Heritage Village in Weatherford, OK. She was born to Elmer and Bertha [raft] Smith, June 16th, 1930 at Swan Lake, OK. She met and married Aubrey Fite, and he preceded her in death in 2001. LaVern lived in Carnegie, OK most of her life. She loved to crochet and to spend time with her grandchildren. LaVern was a member of the Church of the Nazarene, Carnegie, OK. Survivors include three sons: Bobby Joe Fite, Carnegie, OK, Gene Fite and wife Gay, Thomas, OK, Clarence Fite and wife Cendy, Springdale, AR, three daughters: Caroline Lasley and husband Charles, Clinton, OK, Joan Lewis and husband Lee, Arapaho, OK, Patricia Turney and husband Ronnie, Carnegie, OK, nineteen grandchildren, thirty one great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, three step sisters: Ivy McBride, Carnegie, OK, Wanda Nelson, Ft. Cobb, OK, Bonnie Garner, Chickasha, OK, one step brother: Jim Gordon, Alfalfa, OK She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Bill Fite, granddaughter, Debra Fergason, grandson, Issac Fite, step mother, Ada Mae Smith, bothers, Leo Smith and Henry Gordon, sisters, Lena Fay Ferguson and Pearl McBride.
