© Carnegie Herald Carnegie, Oklahoma Wednesday, July 1, 1964 Henry Cassius Butcher 1880 ~ 1964 H.C. Butcher Funeral Services Held Wednesday Funeral services for H.C. Butcher were held Wednesday afternoon at the Pitcher Funeral chapel with Rev. A.F. Heusel, retired Methodist minister, officiating. Interment was in the local cemetery. Butcher had been in failing health and had been in the hospital several times. He died Monday at his home at 209 North Washita. Henry Cassius Butcher was born February 9, 1880, at Benbrook, Texas. His parents died when he was a small boy and he was reared by relatives near Weatherford, Texas. Four sisters preceded him in death. He was married to Lemna Cathrine Cavneer on January 15, 1902, at Vernon, Texas. Four children, including twins, were born to them. Two of the children, James William and Stacie Minor preceded him in death. He and his family lived for several years in the Elmer and Altus communities before moving to Carnegie. They had lived in their present home the past 16 years. He is survived by his wife of the home; two sons, Harry of Putnam and Acie Minor of Dallas; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. © Carnegie Herald Carnegie, Oklahoma Wednesday, May 21, 1969 Lemma Catherine [Cavenar] Butcher 1883 ~ 1969 Services For Mrs. Butcher Held Monday Funeral services for Mrs. Henry C. Butcher a long-time resident of Carnegie who died Saturday at Clinton were held Monday at the Pitcher funeral home chapel. Interment was in the Carnegie cemetery. Lemma Cavener, daughter of W.M. Cavener and Amanda Ann Wooley, was born March 22, 1883, in Parker county, Texas. In 1902, she was married to Henry C. Butcher. They had four sons, Acie, Stacie, Jim and Harry. Her husband and three sons preceded her in death. She is survived by one son, Harry of Clinton, five grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, one sister of Amarillo, Texas, a number of nieces, nephews and a host of friends. © Carnegie Herald Carnegie, Oklahoma Wednesday, September 7, 1966 Acie Minor Butcher 1911 ~ 1966 Funeral Services For Acie Butcher Held Saturday Funeral services Acie Butcher, a former Carnegie businessman and resident of this area for many years, were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Pitcher Funeral chapel. Rev. Bob Williams, pastor of the Church of the Nazarene, officiated. Burial was in the Carnegie cemetery with Pitcher Funeral Home in charge. Butcher, owner of the Nu-Way cleaners here for several years, died Thursday at the Carnegie hospital where he had been a patient since August 8. He had been ill several years. Acie Minor Butcher was born to Mr. and Mrs. H.C. Butcher August 25, 1911, in Jackson county. The family came to Carnegie while he was still young and he attended schools here. After selling his cleaning shop in about 1961, he made his home in Dallas for a while. He was a member of the Methodist church. He is survived by his wife of Dallas, the former Lela Johnson of Carnegie, one son, Joe and three grandchildren, all of Dallas, his mother, Mrs. H.C.
