Funeral Services For J.M. Burch Are Held Tuesday

Funeral services for J.M. Burch were held at 10:30 Tuesday morning at the Pitcher Funeral Home chapel. Rev. Elson P. Hargrove, Methodist pastor, officiated. Burial was in the Carnegie cemetery.

Mr. Burch died Sunday afternoon after a long illness at the Curd Nursing Home where he had been a resident for more than two years.

He was born November 28, 1876, in Tennessee. He was married to Mrs. Nealie Belle Henslee in 1920 at Dallas. After they moved to Oklahoma, they made their home on a farm northwest of Carnegie, later moving to a farm owned by Mrs. Burch's son, D.M. Henslee. They moved into town 21 years ago. Mrs. Burch preceded him in death November 12, 1961. He was a member of the Methodist church.

He is survived by six step-sons, ______ Henslee of Celeste, Texas, Erestus Henslee, Greenville, Texas, Royce Henslee, Moore, Okla., and Lester, Arlie and D.M. Henslee, all of Carnegie; two step-daughters, Mrs. Leygia Woody of Clovis, N.M. and Mrs. Ava Bennett of Bethany; two nephews, Onley and Buford Burch of Tyler, Texas; several step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mrs. J.M. Burch Funeral Services Are Held Tuesday

Funeral services for Mrs. J.M. Burch were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Pitcher Funeral Chapel with Rev. Wm. E. Harris, Christian church pastor, officiating. Burial was in the Carnegie cemetery.

Mrs. Burch, who had entered Curds Rest Home on October 20, died suddenly Sunday evening about 8:45. She was in her usual health, had eaten supper and retired for the night.

Nealie Belle Morrow was born December 1, 1878, in Hunt County, Texas.

She was married to J.M. Burch in 1920 at Dallas. After moving to Oklahoma, they made their home on a farm in the Cottonwood community northwest f Carnegie, later moving to a farm owned by her son, D.M. Henslee, where Howard Evans now lives. They moved into town about 19 years ago.

She was preceded in death by three children, Burlon Henslee, Mrs. Iva Newby and a son who died at the age of two years. She had been a member of the Christian church for many years.

She is survived by her husband who is critically ill at Curd's; six sons, Orestus Henslee, Greenville, Texas, Eben Henslee, Celeste, Texas, Royce Henslee, Oklahoma City, Lester, Arlie and D.M. Henslee, all of Carnegie; two daughters, Mrs. Leygia Woody, Clovis, N.M., and Mrs. Ava Boyer of Anadarko; 20 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and other relatives.
