March 2013 Melda Faye [Boydstun] Bryant 1928 ~ 2013 Melda Faye Bryant, 84, of Carnegie, OK passed away March 27th, 2013 at Corn Heritage in Corn, OK. She was born to Charles and Osie [Sullivan] April 7th, 1928 in Carnegie, OK. She attended school at Prairie Loan, north of town and then attended Carnegie School. She was united in marriage to Bill Bryant, December 23, 1944 in Lawton, OK he preceded her in death July 29, 2007. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Carnegie, OK. Melda enjoyed cooking for church dinners and also sang in the Silver Chords church choir. She worked at the election board counting votes, and also worked for Ray & Martha's Funeral Home. Melda helped her husband Bill in the fields working for many years. Melda was always cooking for her kids and grandkids. She made the best fried pies in town and was always giving them away to friends. Melda first and fore most loved her kids and grandkids and wanted them all close to her. Survivors include her son, Alan Bryant and wife, Deeann, Carnegie, OK, two daughters, Linda Nix, Carnegie, OK, Debbie Kuykendall, New Castle, OK, grandchildren, Lyle Nix, Carnegie, OK, Amy Montgomery, Carnegie, OK, Julie Elhers, Marlin, TX, Jennifer Phillips, New Castle, OK, Emily Clothier and husband, Matthew, Lawrence, KS, Elizabeth Pendergraft and husband, Jason, Weatherford, OK, Mark Bryant and wife, Jennifer, Carnegie, OK, eleven great grandchildren, one sister, Cletha Safley, Salinas, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and 10 siblings. Funeral Service: 2:00p.m., Monday, April 01, 2013 at the First Baptist Church, Carnegie Burial will follow at the Carnegie Cemetery under the direction of Ray & Martha's Funeral Home, Carnegie, OK.
