© Carnegie Herald Carnegie, Oklahoma Wednesday, October 11, 1939 Mary Louise Bryan 1851 ~ 1939 Services Thursday For Aged Resident Funeral services were conducted at the First Christian church at 3:00 p.m. Thursday for Miss Mary Louise Bryan, 88, who passed away at her home on South Broadway late Wednesday night. T.T. Brown, minister was in charge of the service and burial was made in the Carnegie cemetery. Miss Bryan had made her home in Carnegie the past 23 years. Born near Tallahassee, Fla. January 22, 1851, she was converted and joined the Christian church at Wall Hill, Miss., at the age of 15. Later she moved with the family to Texas. She reared her niece, Miss Dollie Bryan and nephew, W.P. Bryan, taking them into her home when they were very small children. Besides Miss Dollie who lives here and who has cared for her aunt in her declining years and W.P. who lives at Walnut Springs, Texas, other survivors include a sister, Mrs. D.E. Henley, Memphis, Tenn., and a sister-in-law, Mrs. R.L. Bryan, Fort Worth and other nephews and nieces. Mary Louise Bryan January 22, 1851 ~ October 4, 1938 |
