Britt Rites Set Thursday At Carnegie Church Funeral services for Hugh Franklin Britt, a retired Carnegie farmer who died early Wednesday at his home after a prolonged illness, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday from the First Baptist church. Rev. W.F. Crow, pastor, will preside. Mr. Britt, who had been in failing health the past five years, died at 4:30 a.m. Wednesday. He was born on December 7, 1869, in Decatur county, Tenn. He was married to Miss Della Mae Woody on September 28, 1908, at Bath Springs, Tenn., and the couple moved to Shawnee in 1918 to make their home. They moved to a farm near Carnegie in 1929. They have made their home in Carnegie the past several years. He was a member of Carnegie First Baptist church and the local Masonic lodge. He is survived by his widow; three sons, Henry Britt, Shawnee; J.E. Britt, Anadarko; Bobby Britt, Salem, Oregon; five daughters, Mrs. Flossie Gee, Mrs. Bill Anderson, Mrs. John Hanifin, all of Carnegie; Mrs. Loyd Daniel, Turlock, Calif.; Mrs. Marion Callaway, Medicine Park; a brother, Bob Lee Britt, Decatur; two sisters, Mrs. Maggie Wyatt and Mrs. Rose Maners, both of Decatur; 17 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Masonic rites will be held at the Carnegie cemetery, when the Fort Cobb funeral home will be in charge. Hugh Franklin Britt December 7, 1869 ~ July 29, 1956 |

[Woody] Britt 1869 ~ 1956 Services held For Della Britt Funeral services for Mrs. Della Britt were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, November 30 in the First Baptist church with Rev. Bill Dickover, pastor, officiating, assisted by Rev. Jimmy Riddlespurger. Interment was in the Carnegie cemetery. Mrs. Britt was married to Hugh Frank Britt in 1908. The had eight children. Survivors include five daughters, Mrs. Flossie Nix of Medicine Park, Mrs. Mae Anderson of Eakly, Mrs. Lois Hanifin of Carnegie, Mrs. Annie Daniel of Wichita Falls, and Velda Calloway of Marlow; three sons, Henry Britt of Shawnee, J.E.
