© Carnegie Herald Carnegie, Oklahoma Wednesday, November 23, 1955 Dora Blackburn 1873 ~ 1955 Former Carnegie Woman Dies In Shawnee Hospital Mrs. Dora Blackburn, a long-time resident of Carnegie, died Wednesday, November 23, in a Shawnee hospital. She was making her home with her daughter, Mrs. C.H. North, in Shawnee. Mrs. Blackburn was born June 20, 1873, in VanBuren county, Ark. She came to Oklahoma in 1925 and lived in Carnegie until November 13, 1950. Since that time she had made her home with her children. She was a member of the Baptist church. Mrs. Blackburn in survived by three daughters: Mrs. Lela Penneo, Mountain View; Mrs. O.A. Henderson, El Cajon, Calif., and Mrs. C.H. North, Shawnee; two sons, Albert Blackburn, Bakersfield, Calif.; and Lynn Blackburn, Cyril; 21 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. Pitcher Funeral Home is in charge of the services which will be here Friday in the Pentecostal Holiness church. Interment will be in the Carnegie cemetery.
