© Carnegie Herald Carnegie, Oklahoma Wednesday, January 15, 1958 Katy Katherine [Davis] Bittle 1871 ~ 1958 Services Are Held Here Friday For Pioneer Woman Funeral services for Mrs. Katy Bittle, a pioneer resident of the Carnegie community, were held at 2:30 p.m. Friday in the chapel of the Pitcher funeral home with Rev,. Bob Williams, pastor of the Church of the Nazarene, officiating. Burial was in the Carnegie cemetery. Katy Katherine Davis Bittle died Thursday in the Carnegie hospital after a brief critical illness. She had been in ill health for a long time. She was born August 20, 1871 at Quincy, Ill. When she was two years old she moved with her parents to Huntsville, Ark., in a covered wagon. She was married in 1889 to J. F. Bittle. Mr. and Mrs. moved to Mountain View in 1899, and later moved to a farm north of Carnegie. Four sons were born to them. One son, Walter, preceded her in death in 1925 and her husband in 1944. She joined the Christian church early in life at Graham, Tex. Mrs. Bittle moved into Carnegie several years ago. Survivors include the three sons, Wallace of Southwest City, Mo., and Joe and Paul of Carnegie; ten grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
