C.E. Berkley Funeral Service Is Held Sunday

Services for C.E. Berkley, pioneer resident of Carnegie and community, were held at 2:30 Sunday in the First Christian church with Rev. Charles Moss, pastor, officiating. Burial was in the Carnegie cemetery.

Berkley, 71 years of age, died of a heart attack last Wednesday while mowing his lawn. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Christian church.

He was born February 3, 1888, at Cameron, Mo., one of five children. He moved to Oklahoma in the early days and lived on a farm south of Carnegie in the early part of 1900. He was married to Miss Nellie Carter on November 17, 1916. Two children were born to them.

Survivors include his wife, Nettie, of the home; a son, Russell of Odessa, Texas; a daughter, Mrs. Martha Jean Zeiser, St. Louis, Mo.; a brother, Wyatt Berkley, Carnegie; a sister Flora Smith, Duncan; and six grandchildren.
