Noah Russell "Babe" Beebe
1890 ~ 1946

Noah Russell "Babe" Beebe, an early day resident of this community, died early Monday at the veterans' hospital in Sulphur after a severe illness of about six weeks.

Final rites were held in the Pitcher chapel here at 10 a.m. Tuesday and burial was made in the Carnegie cemetery. Rev. Clyde N. Price, pastor of the Baptist church, conducted the service.

Beebe was a veteran of World War I serving in France with Co. B., 57th Infantry. Four of his buddies of the old 90th Division, Abe Grad, A.D. Dukes, Arch Jones and C.D. Hull, were bearers at the funeral service. He was a charter member of the American Legion post of Carnegie but was a member of the Lawton post at the time of his death where he has worked at the Gartel Market practically all the time since 1919.

Noah Russell Beebe was born at Ladonia, Mo., November 3, 1890, and came with his mother to Carnegie in 1906, where he grew to manhood. His father died before the family came to Oklahoma and his mother preceded him in death only six years ago.

Survivors are his sister, Mrs. C.J. Clark of Anadarko, his brothers, S.N. Beebe and Lee R. Beebe of this place and four nieces and a nephew.

Relatives from out of town here for the service were Mr. and Mrs. Clark of Anadarko; Mrs. R.H. Stevenson, McAlester; Miss Dorothy Clark, Ada, and Miss Charline Clark, Chickasha; also his former employers, Ed Gartel and Percy Gibson of Lawton.
