© Carnegie Herald Carnegie, Oklahoma Wednesday, October 21, 1964 Lee Roy Beebe 1897 ~ 1964 Lee R. Beebe, Former Resident, Dies At Anadarko Funeral services for Lee R. Beebe, Anadarko business man and a well-known former Carnegie resident, were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Anadarko First Christian church. Rev. Clifford Farriester, pastor, officiated. Interment was in the Carnegie cemetery. Beebe had been in the Anadarko hospital three weeks with a heart condition before his death early Sunday. Born in Ladonia, Mo., in 1897, he was an early-day resident of Carnegie and operated a grocery store here for sometime before moving to Anadarko in 1930. He was manager of a surplus food warehouse at Anadarko during World War II. He returned to Carnegie in 1942 and lived here four years before moving back to Anadarko. He founded the Beebe Bag company, located at 1104 South Mission in Anadarko. The company repairs burlap bags and employs from 25 to 30 persons during the fall harvest season and employs from 10 to 14 persons the year round. His first wife, the former Claudia Holland of Carnegie, died in 1944 and in 1947 he was married to Ethel Stalder of Anadarko. He is survived by a son, Bill Beebe of Oklahoma City, a sister, Mrs. Bessie Clark, Anadarko; two grandchildren, John Lee and Michael Thad Beebe, Oklahoma City, and other relatives including a sister-in-law, Mrs. Kate Beebe, Carnegie.
