© Carnegie Herald Carnegie, Oklahoma Wednesday, August 7, 1960 Maybelle Katherine [Leonard] Battles 1907 ~ 1960 Funeral Services Held Monday For Mrs. M. Battles Mrs. Mabelle Battles, a well-known Carnegie resident for many years, died in the Carnegie hospital Saturday afternoon after a long illness. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Monday in the First Christian church with interment in the Carnegie cemetery, Rev. Wm. E. Harris, pastor, officiated. Mabelle Leonard was born March 14, 1907, on a farm north east of Carnegie. She moved with her parents to Carnegie in 1912. She attended school here and was graduated with the class of 1925. She had made Carnegie her home most of her life. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Shirley Knight, Denver; her mother, Mrs. H.H. Leonard, Carnegie; two brothers, Earl R, and Herbert Leonard, both of Oklahoma City; one sister, Mrs. Alice Lee, Carnegie; and two grandsons, Rocky and Mark Knight, Denver. Pallbearers were M.B. Fanning, Albert Kelly, Russell Swarts, Earl Kelly, Weldon Dillard and Fred Burch of Fletcher. Maybelle Katherine [Leonard] Battles March 14, 1907 ~ September 3, 1960 |
