© Carnegie Herald Carnegie, Oklahoma Wednesday, April 29, 1936 Eloise Norma Battles 1919 ~ 1936 Services were held at the First Methodist church at 3:00 o'clock Sunday afternoon for Eloise Battles, Daughter of Superintendent Lonzo Franklin & Naomi Ruth Battles, who passed away at the family home here at noon Friday. Rev. Marion M. Monk, pastor, delivered the funeral sermon. A quartet composed of Mrs. Anna Maude Covin, Miss Zona Young, C.M. Hartman and John Rodgers, with Mrs. F.J. Daubert at the piano, sang "Abide With Me", Mrs. Covin sang "Be Still and Know", and Mr. Rodgers sang "Going Home", as solos. Eloise Norma Battles was born at Oxford, Arkansas September 5, 1919. She moved with her parents to Oklahoma in August, 1921. Eloise professed in Christ at the age of eight and joined the Methodist church. She always found a joy in serving her Christ in her childlike way. She was brave and patient and full of sunshine during her long illness. Interment was made in the Carnegie cemetery under direction of Pitcher Funeral Home. Eloise Norma Battles September 5, 1919 ~ April 24, 1936 |
