© Carnegie Herald Carnegie, Oklahoma Wednesday, June 1, 1949 John William "Bill" Baldwin 1882 ~ 1949 William "Bill" Baldwin Dies Suddenly Tuesday and only friends will be mourners. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday for John William "Bill" Baldwin, 76, who died suddenly at 8:30 Tuesday morning. He was stricken while reading a paper in Moore's cafe on North Carnegie ave. He was taken to a hospital but was pronounced dead upon arrival. Services will be in the Pitcher chapel with Rev. C.N. Price in charge and burial will be made in the Carnegie cemetery. A resident of this community for the past 20 years, Baldwin told friends he had no relatives. Little is known of his early life. He was living in Texas in 1917 and came to this community in the early 20's when he worked as a farm hand for several men in the community. Later he worked as a grocery clerk and for a time was night clerk at the Mitchell hotel. For more than a year he and J. S. Balden have been living in an apartment at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Brewer. John William "Bill" Baldwin February 12, 1882 ~ May 31, 1949 |
