Ted was driving the car, and had no warning of Mr. Bacon's illness until he expired and fell over against him. Mr. Griffin returned to town with the body, and after consultation it was decided that an inquest was not necessary. Mr. Bacon has suffered from heart trouble for several months. At one time he was very poorly, but of late he had improved much in health and said that he was feeling fine. Funeral services were held at the chapel Sunday afternoon and interment was made in the Carnegie cemetery. William Johnson Bacon was born in Lincoln county, Kans. January 2, 1881, died June 2, 1923, aged 42 years and five months. He came to Oklahoma in 1901, and in 1902 was married to Miss Zettie Aldernman of Ponca City. Two daughters were born to this union: Mrs. Gladys Chase of Chickasha, and Miss Velma who is at home. Mrs. Bacon died in 1906. Mr. Bacon is survived by his two daughters, his mother, Mrs. Mary Alice Bacon, who lives here, and three brothers, S.L. [Seth Linden] of this place, and Burn and John of Pomona, Calif. Mr. Bacon is one of the old timers here, having lived in or near town since the opening of the country. He was converted at the age of 15. The chapel was well filled with friends of the family.
