© Carnegie Herald Carnegie, Oklahoma Wednesday, May 4, 1966 Morgan Clinton "Clint" Applewhite 1908 ~ 1966 Clint Applewhite Funeral Services Are Held Friday Funeral services for Clint Applewhite, local theatre owner, sportsman and rancher, were held at 2:30 p.m. Friday in the First Christian church with Dr. Richard P. Yaple, pastor, officiating. Interment was in the Carnegie cemetery under the direction of Pitcher Funeral Home. Applewhite died early Wednesday, May 4, at Lawton Memorial hospital where he had been a patient about ten days. Death was attributed to a stroke. Owner of the Liberty Theatre here for many years, he had been a member of the state welfare board since 1951. He was born January 25, 1908, near Oney. He attended school there, and later graduated from Anadarko high school. He operated a gin in Binger 13 years, was a cotton buyer and had farming interests here and in Beaver county. Active in civic affairs, he was a member of the local Kiwanis club for many years and was a member of the First Christian church. He also was a Mason. He was married to the former Anna Houk. One son, Jerry, was born to them. Mrs. Applewhite has been a teacher in the local system for many years. He is survived by his wife of the home; the son, Jerry, a sophomore at the University of Oklahoma; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dee Applewhite of Long Beach, Calif.; one brother, Harley, also of Long Beach; and other relatives.
