© Carnegie Herald Carnegie, Oklahoma Wednesday, January 25, 1978 Harry Pleasant Anderson 1886 ~ 1978 Funeral services for Harry P. Anderson, 91, longtime local businessman, who died last Thursday in the Carnegie municipal Hospital following a brief illness, were at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the First Christian Church. Rev. Lee Davis pastor officiated and burial was in Carnegie Cemetery under direction of Pitcher Funeral Home. Emery Fulk, Bonnie Netherton and Preston Thornton conducted the Masonic rites. Members of Masonic Lodge served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were: Clarence Hull, Joe Bickford, Earl Roddy, Sid VanEaton, Joe Hegner, and George Reed. Harry P. Anderson was born March 5, 1886 in Kingman, Kansas. His family moved to Kingfisher Oklahoma in 1892 where he grew to manhood. He started farming in the Cushing area in the early 1900's and in 1917 he opened a grocery store in Cushing and later added another one in Reeding Oklahoma. During this period he became a 32nd degree Mason. He was married to Marguerite Cashman on July 24, 1918 at Enid. In 1925 he became a Champlin Oil Company agent in Cushing and in 1927 was made the Southwest Oklahoma Sales Supervisor for Champlin. In October 1929 he bought the Champlin Agency in Carnegie and operated it until October 1970, when ill health forced him to retire. During his business years in Carnegie he was active in the Chamber of Commerce, Rotary Club, Masonic Lodge and the first Christian Church. For years he headed the Chambers of Commerce Baseball Tournament Committee and during World War II headed the War Bond drive and later was active in the community Big-One Charity Drive. He is survived by his wife of the home; two daughters, Donna Hendricks, Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Norean Flaig, Fort Cobb; a brother, W.F. Anderson, Lake Jackson, Texas; seven grandchildren and one great grandchild. Henry P. Anderson married Miss Marguerite Evelyn Cashman on July 24, 1918, at Enid, Oklahoma. They lived in Cashion until 1927, when they moved to Watonga and later to Anadarko. Moved to Carnegie in January, 1930 where he was a wholesale-retail distributor for the Champion Refining Company. © Carnegie Herald Carnegie, Oklahoma Wednesday, April 27, 1979 Marguerite Evelyn [Cashman] Anderson 1912 ~ 1984 Services for Marguerite E. Anderson, 84, of Carnegie were held June 22 in the First Christian Church of Carnegie with the rev. Bob Williams, pastor of the Carnegie Nazarene Church, officiating. Mrs. Anderson died June 18 in the Carnegie Tri-County Municipal Hospital. She was born July 30, 1895 and was married to Harry Pleasant Anderson. He died January 19, 1978. Mrs. Anderson was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Royal Neighbors Club. Survivors include two daughters, Norene Flaig of Fort Cobb and Donna Hendricks of Carnegie; seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.
