© Carnegie Herald Carnegie, Oklahoma Wednesday, March 3, 1952 Lucy M. [Hurford] Anderson 1895 ~ 1947 Mrs. Powers Dies In City Hospital; Services Pending Services for Mrs. J.W. Powers, 56, who died Tuesday night in the Carnegie hospital, are pending the arrival of a daughter, Mrs. Alice Ball, of Portland, Oregon. Mrs. Powers had been ill only a short time. Rites will be in the Carnegie Baptist church with burial in the Carnegie cemetery. The Pitcher Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements. She was born Nov. 19, 1895, in Texas and came to Oklahoma when a child. She married G.V. Anderson who died May 14, 1947. She married J.W. Powers Feb. 11, 1950, and they made their home a mile east and a half north of Carnegie. She was converted and baptized in 1932. Survivors include the husband; two daughters, Mrs. Ball, and Mrs. Wade Bond, Fort Cobb; a son, Bill Anderson, Carnegie; three stepsons, Jim and Howard Powers, Carnegie, and George, Oklahoma City, and two step-daughters, Mrs. A.S. Boyd, Erick, and Mrs. Flo Gunter, Alfalfa. Her mother, Mrs. Mattie Hurford, Nucla, Colo., seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren also survive. Lucy M.
