Funeral Services For G.C. Anderson Are Held Monday

Funeral services for Grover Cleveland Anderson, a former Carnegie resident and brother of Mrs. Chas Jones, were held at 2 p.m. Monday at Pitcher Funeral chapel with Rev. J.M. Riddlesburger, pastor of the local Pentecostal Holiness church, officiating. Burial was in the Carnegie cemetery with the Pitcher Funeral Home in charge.

Anderson died Saturday at Del City where he had been living for some time.

He was born August 12, 1894, at Colbert, Alabama, and in 1903 moved with his parents to Lexington, Okla. The family later moved to the community north of town where they lived for many years. He was married to Miss Beulah Byrd on July 11, 1919.

In 1948, Anderson moved to Norman and later to Del City where he was living at the time of his death. He was a veteran of World War I and received the Purple Heart while serving overseas with the 90th Division.

He is survived by his wife, Beulah, of the home at Del City; one daughter, Mrs. Bernice Green, Oklahoma City; a son, G.A. Anderson of Del City; and four grandchildren. Also surviving him are three brothers, Chalmer and Walter, both of Oklahoma City, and Belton of Yukon; five sisters, Mrs. Jones, Carnegie, Mrs. Jeannie Terrell, Oklahoma City, Mrs. Lula Borden, Oklahoma City, Mrs. Maude Oden, Little Rock, Ark., and Mrs. Pearl Miller of California.
