Milton Otis officiating. Prayer services were held Tuesday, May 8, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. at the Carnegie-Pitcher Funeral Home in Carnegie. Thelma was born January 6, 1929 to Newton and Hallie [Odelty] Guoladdle in Carnegie and died Sunday, May 6, 2007 at the Carnegie Hospital. She has lived in Carnegie her entire life. She was united in marriage to William Aitson in 1947 in Carnegie and from this union was born five children. Joyce enjoyed her family, especially her children and grandchildren, they were her whole life. She enjoyed gardening, yard work, cooking and housekeeping. Other than her family her greatest joy was sewing and there isn't anything she couldn't sew. She quilted, did needlepoint and crocheting. Her only complaint was not being able to see well enough to sew anymore after her stroke a few years ago. After her son, Lucius "Yogi" was called home by the Lord, she went to the cemetery nearly everyday to make sure their lot was properly kept, it was very important to her. Then when God called one of her daughters, Cheryl and shortly after Joyce's husband, William, it was a must that their lot at the cemetery be well maintained and she and the girls and grandkids made a visit almost every day to see that it always looked nice. Joyce was a wonderful wife, Mom, grandma, sister and friend. She was proud of her Native heritage and a member of the Kiowa Indian Tribe of Oklahoma. She was a born again believer and was very thankful for all God had blessed her with. She taught her family well and always stood by their side. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She leaves a great legacy to be followed by her children and grandchildren. She is survived by three daughters, Lydia Arocha, Sharon Aitson, both of Carnegie and Jerwel Tawkoyty of Oklahoma City; two grandsons, William Tawkoyty of Oklahoma City and Joey Arocha of Carnegie; and two granddaughters, Hattie Shalaine Aitson and Tosickah Joyce Arocha of Carnegie. She was preceded in death by her parents, Newton and Hallie Guoladdle; one son, Lucius B. "Yogi" Aitson; one daughter, Cheryl Aitson; her husband, William Aitson; two sisters, Esther Prentiss and Elouise Geionty; and five brothers, Arthur, Frank, Edgar, Joe and Robert Guoladdle. Burial will be in the Carnegie Cemetery under the direction of the Carnegie-Pitcher Funeral Home. Thelma Joyce [Guoladdle] Aitson January 6, 1929 ~ May 6, 2007 |
