Hydro, Oklahoma Wednesday, November 13, 1913 January 19, 1869 ~ November 8, 1913 The town was shocked Friday afternoon with the report that while playing a friendly game of pool at the Bandy and Newton Hall, and in apparently good health , W. F. Bielby had suffered a stroke of paralysis, rendering him unconscious. He was taken to the Commercial Hotel medical aid, his wife and mother summoned. He died Saturday afternoon about 24 hours after the attack. He was taken to his home Sunday and buried Tuesday. Funeral services were conducted from the Bethel many from here attended the funeral. The deepest sympathy is expressed for the bereaved family. |
Weatherford, Oklahoma Thursday, May 17, 1962 September 14, 1879 ~ April 28, 1962 Mrs. Nancy Ellen Bielby, 82 years died Saturday, April 28, 1962 in Independence, Missouri where she made her home for the past two years with her daughter, Mrs. Violet McDonald and Mr. McDonald. Funeral services were held Wednesday, may 2, 1962 from the Lockstone chapel with Rev. Gordon Spencer officiating and burial was in the Bethel Cemetery, east of Hydro, Oklahoma. Nancy Ellen Bielby, daughter of David and Elizabeth Mitchell, was born September 14, 1879 near Westover, Pennsylvania and came to Oklahoma as a young girl with her mother and two brothers. She was married to William Francis Bielby, December 12, 1901 at El Reno, Oklahoma and they made their home on a farm in the Bethel community. Her husband died in 1913 and a few years later she moved to Weatherford. She joined the Methodist church as a child and was a member of the Methodist church in Weatherford for over 40 years. Surviving her are one daughter, Violet McDonald of Independence, Missouri; three granddaughters; Mrs. Geraldine Besich, Apache Junction, Arizona, Mrs. Marie Jones, Miami, Arizona and Mrs. Willa Mae Prock of Tacoma, Washington; four great-grandchildren. A son, Carroll, preceded her in death in 1951 and a daughter, Irma, died in 1929. |
Westherford, Oklahoma Thursday, August 9, 1951 October 26, 1910 ~ August 4, 1951 William Carroll Bielby was born October 26, 1910 near Hydro, Oklahoma. He lived in the Bethel community near Hydro until five years of age at which time he moved to Weatherford with his mother, Mrs. Nancy Ellen Bielby and family. In his boyhood he became a member of the Methodist church. For the past 10 years he resided in Miami, Arizona, where he was employed as a restaurant cook. After returning to Weatherford in December 1950 he was employed by the Silver Crest Bakery. After an illness of only three weeks he passed away August 4, 1951. he was preceded in death by his father, William F. Bielby and a sister, Mrs. Irma E. Paulk. He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Nancy Ellen Bielby, Weatherford; a sister, Mrs. R. J. McDonald and a brother-in-law, R. J. McDonald, Amarillo, Texas; three nieces, Mrs. G. C. Jones and Mrs. Jerry Voynich, or Miami, Arizona and Mrs. Willa Mae Prock, Urbana, Illinois. Funeral services were held in Weatherford on Monday, August 6 and burial was in the Bethel Cemetery near Hydro. |
