© Carnegie Herald Carnegie, Oklahoma Wednesday, May 7, 1919 May 11, 1836 ~ May 4, 1919 Grandpa T.T. Willis passed away at his home near Alfalfa Sunday night, aged 83 years lacking one week. Funeral services were held at the Baptist church in Alfalfa at 3 o'clock yesterday afternoon, Rev Goss preaching the funeral and the Masons of Carnegie conducting the Masonic ceremony. Thomas Tyrus Willis was born in Tennessee May 11, 1836, died May 4, 1919, aged 82 years, 11 months and 23 days. Mr Willis was unfortunate in losing three helpmates. his fourth wife surviving him. Mr and Mrs Willis and the greater number of their children have lived in the Carnegie community for many years. Mr Wills was a member of the Primitive Baptist church and has been a Mason since 1864. Mr. Willis is survived by eight children; J.T. Willis, R.E. Willis, L.J. Willis, J.B. Willis, Mrs A.C. Kennedy and Mrs A.E. Potts, all of near Carnegie, Joe Willis of Ardmore and Robert Willis of Abott, Texas. |
