© Carnegie Herald Carnegie, Oklahoma Wednesday, July 24, 1929 Grandma Brookshire Dies Mrs. Sallie Brookshire, pioneer resident of the Cowden and Alfalfa communities died Tuesday morning at the home of her son-in-law, A.C. Ledford near Alfalfa. Funeral services were held this afternoon at the Baptist church by Rev. Howard, pastor and interment was made in the Alfalfa cemetery. © Carnegie Herald Carnegie, Oklahoma Wednesday, August 7, 1929 Mrs. Sallie Brooksher of north of Alfalfa died at her home July 28, 1929. Mrs. Brooksher was born April 26, 1883 in Tennessee, moved with her parents to Arkansas then to Oklahoma. There she was married to Lark McCullie; to this union one child was born, Mrs. Ida Leadford who has preceded her to heaven. She united with the Alfalfa Baptist church of which she lived a faithful member until her death. She leaves to mourn her a son-in-law, four grandchildren, two sisters, two brothers and a host of friends. |
