© Carnegie Herald Carnegie, Oklahoma February 5, 1919 Grandma Bizzell Mary Martin was born Oct. 23, 1848, was married to J. L. Bizzell Sept. 1, 1867. To this union were born five girls and two boys who, with the husband, survive her. Grandma Bizzell, as she was familiarly known, passed into her eternal rest on Jan. 16, 1919, at her home in Alfalfa, aged seventy years. Her work on earth was finished and dying was but going home. In the past few years she suffered much, but her faith in God never wavered, for since girlhood she had been devoted to Christ and his church and her life expressed itself without stint or measure in a most beautiful devotion to the comfort and joy of those about her. Her noble ideals, her womanly instincts and her simple Christian faith had fruitage in every member of her household and her children rise up and call her blessed, for hers was a character of great purity of heart and nobility of life; her temple of clay was laid to rest in the Alfalfa cemetery. |
