© Carnegie Herald Carnegie, Oklahoma March 19, 1969 Marion Brantley Teague March 31, 1885 ~ March 17, 1969 M.B. Teague, 83, a long time resident of Carnegie died Monday at the Anadarko hospital after a long illness. He had been resident of the Curd Nursing Home the past three years. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. Burt Miller, pastor, officiating. Interment will be at the Alden Cemetery. Marton Brantley Teague, born March 31, 1885 at Jasper, Ga. He was married to Jennie Rose Scott in September 1903 at Celeste, Texas. Nine children were born to them. One son and three daughters preceding him in death. Mrs. Teague died on March 27, 1956. The family moved to the Alden Community in 1912. They later farmed in the Swan Lake community before moving to Carnegie in the early 1940's. He became a member of the Shady Grove Pentecostal Holiness church 43 years ago. When the church at Shady Grove disbanded, he came to the Pentecostal church in Carnegie. He is survived by two sons, Horace and Ray, both of Oklahoma City; three daughters: Irene Atchley and Lorene White both of Fort Cobb and Lerne Ratliff of Chickasha. One brother Nolen Teague of Carnegie; twenty two grandchildren and twenty seven great grandchildren. |

Teague Dies Suddenly At Home Wednesday A brief critical illness roved fatal early Wednesday for Mrs. M.B. Teague, 73 year old Carnegie woman who had been a resident of this and surrounding communities for the past 39 years. Mrs. Teague took suddenly critically ill three days ago. Death came at 4 a.m. Wednesday. Born April 20, 1882, at Midland, Tenn., she moved with her parents to Greenville, Tex., at the age of four years. She lived there for several years and was married to M.B. Teague in 1903. She and Mr. Teague moved to the Alden community 39 years ago and later lived for a time in the Swan Lake community. They had made their home in Carnegie the past 12 years. She was a member of the Pentecostal Holiness church. She is survived by her husband, M.B. Teague, four daughters, Mrs. Doyle Christy of Brea, Calif., Mrs. Irene Atchley and Mrs. John White of Fort Cobb, and Mrs. Darrell Ratliff, Carnegie; two sons, Horace of Cordell, and Ray of Oklahoma City; one sister, Mrs. Calvin Holleman, Wright City, Okla.; and 19 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday at the Pentecostal Holiness church, with Rev. Ogland Barger, officiating. |
© Carnegie Herald Carnegie, Oklahoma Wednesday, Maech 22, 1922 February 8, 1898 ~ March 17, 1922 Lemon L. Teague of the Alden community was born February 8, 1898, died March 17, 1922, aged 24 years, 1 months and 9 days. He was converted July 17, 1917, united with the Baptist church of Alden and lived a faithful member until his death. The Teague family came from Georgia in 1902. Lemon was born near Mineral Springs, Ga. When he was 4 years of age his parents moved to Celeste, Texas, and when he was about 12 years of age they settled near Alden where he lived until he went to be with his Lord. Lemon was very much beloved by the people who knew him as was demonstrated by friends who sorrowfully followed to the last resting place on earth. His death was caused from pneumonia after an illness of 15 days. He leaves to mourn his death, his aged father and mother, five brothers, three sisters and a host of friends. We admonish his dear father and mother not to mourn as those who have no hope, for they shall see him again in the city of the unsetting sun. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. R.J. Morgan, pastor of the Carnegie Baptist church, and Rev. Coats of Apache assisted in the services. |
