© Carnegie Herald Carnegie, Oklahoma Wednesday, April 13, 1949 September 23, 1854 ~ April 7, 1949 Mrs. S.G. Scott Dies At 94; Services Are Sunday Afternoon Mrs. S.G. Scott, 94, died late Thursday, April 7, in the home of her daughter, Mrs. M. B. Teague. She had been seriously ill for a number of years and was confined to her bed the past three months. Services were Sunday afternoon in the Assembly of God church with the pastor, Rev. L. Saffle, and Rev. Burt Miller of the Pentecostal church, in charge. Burial was in the Alden cemetery. Nancy Frances McBride was born September 23, 1854, Beach Grove, Tenn. At the age of 16 she became a member of the Methodist church and lived a consistent Christian life many years. After moving to Texas, she was married to Samuel G. Scott December 25, 1880, and to them four children were born. Mr. Scott died in 1924. Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Lula Holleman of Wright City and Mrs. Teague of this place; a brother, J.W. McBride, Peniel, Texas, and several grandchildren and other near relatives. Attending the service from a distance were Mrs. Eveline Waller and Nola Scott, Golden, Texas; Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Eubanks, Amarillo, Texas; Miller Scott, Mrs. Vallera Sharp and daughter of Gladewater, Texas, and Miss Ima Jean Scott, Dallas. |
