© Carnegie Herald Carnegie, Oklahoma Wednesday, March 9, 1938 March 28, 1851 ~ March 8, 1938 Funeral Service For Mrs. Owens Tuesday Funeral services were held at the Union church in Alden Tuesday for Mrs. J.N. Owen, pioneer resident of the community, who died at her home March 8. Rev. D. A. Lambert, pastor at Spring Valley, conducted the services, and burial was made in the Alden cemetery. Pitcher Funeral home had charge of arrangements. Mrs. Owens had located on the farm south of Carnegie in 1901 and lived there continuously until her death. Nannie Stilly was born near Benton, Ill. March 28, 1851 and passed away at the age of 86 years, 11 months and 8 days. She was married to J.N. Owens January 20, 1892 and to them one son, C.M. Owens, was born. She is survived by the son who lives here, a sister, Mrs. Sibbie Pilkington of Tulsa; two grandchildren, V.J. Owens and Viola Romans of Los Angeles, besides nieces and nephews and many friends. |
© Carnegie Herald Carnegie, Oklahoma Wednesday, February 25, 1920 1918 ~ 1919 Little Lucile Dorothy Owens who died in Idaho last Monday, was buried in the Alden cemetery Sunday afternoon. A large crowd attended the funeral and Rev Morgan spoke suvh comforting words in his sermon. The little girl was the baby of Cicero and Mable Owens, and was 17 months old. To the bereaved ones we offer our heartfelt sympathy. |
