Lawton, Oklahoma Thursday, August 14, 1969 August 10, 1890 ~ Ajugust 13, 1969 Mrs. Belle Hewes APACHE (Special) – Funeral for Mrs. Belle Hewes, 79, a long-time resident of the Alden community northwest of there who died Wednesday at Sulphur. Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Sulphur with burial in the Alden cemetery at 3 p.m. Mrs. Hewes was born August 10, 1890, in Georgia. She married Harry L. Hewes in 1909 in Caddo County and was a member of the Church of Christ. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Thelma Snow, Houston, Tex., and Mrs. Jessie Milford, Oklahoma City, one son, Lester Hewes, Apache; two brothers, Hoyt Hood and Kyle Hood; one sister Mrs. Myrtle Giddis; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. |
© Carnegie Herald Carnegie, Oklahoma Wednesday, February 22, 1933 June 21, 1925 ~ February 19, 1933 Junior Hewes Dies Junior Hewes was born near Apache June 21, 1925 and died February 19, 1933, age 8 years 7 months and 20 days. The funeral was held at the Alden Presbyterian church Sunday afternoon, Dr. J.R. Morris officiating. Interment was made in the Alden cemetery. He leaves to mourn his death his parents, Mr. and Mrs. R.R. Hewes, and sister, Norma Faye, his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Hewes of Apache and Mr. and Mrs. A.G. Hancock of Oklahoma City and other relatives and friends. |
