© Carnegie Herald Carnegie, Oklahoma Wednesday, May 27, 1964 June 23, 1894 ~ May 21, 1964 Funeral Services For E.E. Charles Are Held Saturday Funeral services for Earnest E. Charles were held Saturday morning at 10 o'clock at the First Baptist church with Rev. Jimmy Weston, pastor, officiating. Burial was in Alden cemetery with Pitcher Funeral home in charge. Full military rites were presented. Charles had been ill for some time before his death May 20, at the Presbyterian hospital in Oklahoma City. He was born June 23, 1894, at Ennis, Texas. His family came to the Alden community in 1905. He was married in 1922 to Elizabeth Cummins. A son and daughter were born to them. He was preceded in death by his daughter in 1924 and his wife in 1925. He had been a resident of Carnegie for many years. He later married Ofa Jeffries, who preceded him in death in 1963. He became a member of the Baptist church in December, 1963, and was a member of the Masonic lodge, IOOF and the VFW. His survivors include the son, Tommy and a granddaughter, Lee Ann Charles of Plattsville, Colo.; three brothers, Roy of Salinas, Calif., George and Buford, both of Carnegie; a sister, Mrs. Mabel Patterson, Roseburg, Ore. and other relatives. |
© Carnegie Herald Carnegie, Oklahoma Wednesday, February 27, 1924 May 12, 1923 ~ February 24, 1924 Eula Elizabeth, little daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest E. Charles, died Sunday. Rev. George C. Hutto conducted the funeral service at the Baptist church Monday at 2:30, and interment was made in the Alden cemetery. The baby was ill three weeks, pneumonia following an attach of measles. Eula Elizabeth Charles was born May 12, 1923, died February 24, 1924, age 9 months and 12 days. |
© Carnegie Herald Carnegie, Oklahoma Wednesday, October 9, 1929 December 5, 1895 ~ October 8, 1929 Mrs. Roy Charles Dies At El Reno; Burial Today Mrs. Roy Charles, well known in Carnegie and community died at an El Reno hospital Tuesday morning. The body was brought to Carnegie and funeral services were held in the Methodist church Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 by Rev. W.A.R. Lovell. Interment was made in the Alden cemetery. Besides her husband she is survived by four children and many other relatives in this community. Married Roy W. Charles 12-14-1913. Carnegie, Oklahoma Wednesday, October 16, 1929 December 5, 1895 ~ October 8, 1929 Ruth Belle White was born December 5, 1895 and died at El Reno hospital at 9:17, October 8, 1929. Age 34 years, 10 months and 3 days. She was married to Roy Charles December 13, 1913. To this union were born five children, one of which died in infancy. The children living are: Orville, Georgia, Elsie, and Thomas Edgar. Mrs. Charles was a devoted wife and mother and was loved by every one who knew her. She was an active member of the South Pioneer Home Demonstration club. She was also a member of the Royal Neighbors at Alden. Besides her husband and children she leaves to mourn her loss, her mother, Mrs. E.E. McNabb of Carnegie; four sisters, Mrs. Elsie Wimberly of Carnegie; Mrs. Bertha Steele of Shawnee; Mrs. Cora Clark of Oklahoma City; Mrs. Martha Calvin of Bronson, Iowa. Two brothers; Herbert White of Hobart; and Ernest White of Oklahoma City; One step sister and five step brothers and a host of friends who extend their deepest sympathy to the bereaved ones.br> |
