Chaband of the Alden community, died Saturday. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Cumberland Presbyterian church at Alden and burial was made in the Alden cemetery. The funeral was conducted by Dr. John R. Morris, pastor, who was assisted by the writer. Donald Edward Chaband was born March 15, 1917, died March 10, 1934, aged 16 years, 11 months and 25 days. He was converted when he was 12 years old and united with the Cumberland Presbyterian church at Alden. At the time of his death he was classified as a junior in the Alden high school. Besides his parents Donald is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Ray Patterson and Mrs. Lloyd Manly, and two brothers, Clarence Pendleton and Jack Chaband. Don was always an obedient and affectionate son, a loving and companionable brother, a kind and congenial friend. His characteristics were commendable and will stand as a monument of upright living in the memory of those who knew him. He was a prince of a man in the making, honorable, truthful and dependable. To the bereaved I would recommend these words as a source of comfort. Bessie Copeland Morris |
