© Carnegie Herald Carnegie, Oklahoma Wednesday, June 9, 1921 September 8, 1863 ~ June 12, 1921 Henry Caulder, who had been suffering from a complication of diseases, died Sunday morning at 10 o'clock and will be buried this afternoon, Monday at 3 o'clock. The obituary will be printed later. To the bereaved ones we extend our sympathy. © Carnegie Herald Carnegie, Oklahoma Wednesday, June 15, 1921 September 8, 1863 ~ June 12, 1921 Samuel Henry Calder was born near Exira, Iowa, September 8, 1863, died aged 57 years, 9 months and 4 days. The funeral was held at Alden Monday, 3 p.m., at the Union church. E. Rhodes of the Christian church at Carnegie conducted the services. Mr. Calder married Mary Leona Osler February 28, 1888. She passed away March 21, 1913. To this union were born eight children. George, the second child, died in infancy. He is survived by five sons, two daughters, two brothers, one sister and seven grandchildren. When 21 years of age he united with the Christian Church near Marionville, Kans. All of the children were at the father's bedside except one son Charles and a daughter, Velda, who live at Ramona. |
© Carnegie Herald Carnegie, Oklahoma Wednesday, October 4, 1917 June 2, 1866 ~ December 11, 1954 Rites in Apache Methodist Church For Mrs. Calder Services were at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Apache Methodist church for Mrs. J.L. Calder, a resident of Caddo county 45 years. She was 88 years old, and had been a patient in a Carnegie hospital the past five months. She died Saturday, December 11. Rev. Elmer Kelly, Clinton Presbyterian minister, conducted the services and was assisted by Rev. N.U. Stout, Methodist pastor. Burial was in the Alden cemetery. Emma Josephene Jameson was born May 2, 1866 at Garrison, Kansas. She was married to J.L. Calder at Garrison April 15, 1908 and shortly thereafter they came to Oklahoma and located on their farm southeast of Alden where they made their home until 1946 when they moved to Apache. She had been a life-long member of the Methodist church and became a charter member of the Cumberland Presbyterian church at Alden. Survivors are her husband, J.L. Calder of the home in Apache; a brother, George Jameson, Topeka, Kansas; and six nephews and nieces. A niece, Mrs. Velda Schmidt, was reared in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Calder. Another niece, Mrs. E.E. Peterson, Garrison, Kansas, was seriously injured in a highway accident west of El Reno Monday as she was on her way to Apache to attend her aunt's funeral. |
© Carnegie Herald Carnegie, Oklahoma Wednesday, September 1, 1965 April 19, 1872 ~ August 29, 1965 Mary Leona Henderson was born to James and Jane Henderson on April 19, 1872 in Clay Grove, Iowa. She was married to William F. Calder on December 10, 1891, and moved to a farm in the Alden community south of Carnegie in 1905. Nine children were born to them. She was preceded in death by her husband May 20, 1925, and by five of her children. She was a member of the local First Baptist church, the Rebekah lodge and had been a member of the Royal Neighbor lodge the past 50 years. She had been a resident of Carnegie several years. She is survived by four children, Mrs. Grace Jackson, Branson, Colo., Cecil Calder, Texaco, Tex., Leo and Wayne of Oklahoma City. |

Hancock officiating at the funeral. This is another case of the family all having measles and the little one could not stand it. We extend our heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved family. |
