© Carnegie Herald Carnegie, Oklahoma Wednesday, November 18, 1918 July 28, 1895 ~ November 7, 1918 Garland Hansford Barrett, son of Mr. and Mrs. H.N. Barrett, was born in Johnson county, Texas., July 21, 1895, died at Branson, Colo., November 7, 1918, aged 23, 3 months and 16 days. The family moved to Cordell, Okla., in 1901 where Garland received his education. They later moved to Lawton where he was married in August, 1916. He resided near Carnegie two years until he with his wife and baby son moved to Colorado two weeks ago. |
© Carnegie Herald Carnegie, Oklahoma Wednesday, November 18, 1918 April 10, 1917 ~ November 7, 1918 Baby Garland Barrett was born near Carnegie, Okla., April 10, 1917, died at Branson, Col., November 7, 1918, aged 1 year, 6 months and 27 days. There was just an hour and five minutes difference in the father's and son's death. The bodies were returned to Oklahoma and the funeral was conducted at Alden Monday by Rev. S. Kern. The remains of father and child were laid to rest in one grave. |
