© Carnegie Herald Carnegie, Oklahoma Wednesday, July 24, 1963 Robert B. Tackett 1889 ~ 1963 Oney Services Held Wednesday For R.B. Tackett Funeral services for Robert B. Tackett, 73 years old, were held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Oney Christian church. Rev. Harold Mosely of Chelsea officiated. Burial was in the Albert cemetery. Tackett died Monday in the Anadarko hospital after a long illness. He was a native of Georgetown, Texas. He came to Albert in 1907 and married Dora Oney there in 1912. Mrs. Tackett preceded him in death in 1961. He was a member of the Oney Christian church. Survivors include one son, Clint, of Albert; five brothers, Will of Anadarko, Albert and J.P. of Albert, and Eddie and Emmett of Waco, Texas; a sister, Mrs. Mable Honea of Waco, three granddaughters and six great-grandsons. |

She married David J. Tackett in 1909 at Anadarko. He preceded her in death in 1954. A charter member of both the Oney Baptist church and the Oney Rebekah lodge. Mother of 3 sons, Alvin of Lookeba, Lester of Radcliff, KY, and Emmett Tackett of Fort Cobb and a daughter, Mrs. Lorraine Smith of Lookeba. |

Tackett Funeral Services Are Held At Oney Funeral services for Albert C. Tackett, retired farmer of the Oney community, were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 6, in the Oney Christian church with Rev. Harold Mosley, pastor, officiating. Burial was in the Oney cemetery. Tackett died October 4 in the Anadarko hospital, after being seriously ill a week and hospitalized three days. Tackett, a native of Texas, was born September 7, 1891, and came to the Oney community in 1911, where he had lived since. He was married to Pansy Stewart on November 6, 1916, at Oney. He was a member of the Christian church. He is survived by his wife of the home; two sons, Jack, who is stationed at Fort Bliss, Texas, and Bill of Longmont, Colo.; four daughters, Mrs. Vera Anderson, Normangee, Texas, Mrs. Marjorie McWhorter, Bryan, Texas, Mrs. Peggy Cavanaugh, Buvcyrus, Mo., and Mrs. Verla Salamy of Anadarko; three brothers, Plenty of Oney, Eddie and Emmitt of Waco, Tex.; one sister, Mrs. Mable Honea, Waco; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Jesse Thomas, George Salamy, Herman Crow, Norman Dorsey, Delvie Adams and Buck Trull. |

He attended schools at Willow Creek and Oney. He was married to Daphna Willis January 30, 1936 in Anadarko. They had 3 daughters, Reva Maxwell of Oney, Mrs. Cecil Pack, Jr. of Binger and Dana Tackett of Oney. |
