Fort Cobb Man Dies; Funeral Is Held Tuesday

Fort Cobb--Funeral services for W.E. Sublett were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Oney Baptist church with Rev. Jack Stuart of Cement officiating.

Burial was in the Oney cemetery.

Mr. Sublett died Sunday in the home of a daughter in Fort Cobb following a three-week illness.

He was a member of the Baptist church and had been custodian for the Oney school for a number of years before retiring two years ago.

He was born October 21, 1892, at Dublin, Texas.

He married the former Miss Effie McElroy in Cordell April 15, 1917. They moved to Oney the same year.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Joyce Weaver of Fort Cobb and Mrs. Joan Wulf of Hyattsville, Md.; one brother, C.T. Sublett, Oakland, Calif.; and two sisters, Mrs. E.E. Hall of Abilene and Mrs. Pearl Reeder, Tulare, Calif., as well as four grandchildren.
