© Carnegie Herald Carnegie, Oklahoma Wednesday, June 18, 1975 Robert Hugh Smithpeter July 23, 1889 ~ June 13, 1975 Area Pioneer Dies at Oney Graveside services for Robert Hugh Smithpeter, 85, of Binger were held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, June 14, at the Albert Cemetery with Harold Mosley, pastor of the Oney Christian church, officiating. Smithpeter died Friday, June 13, at the Carnegie Hospital. A retired farmer, Smithpeter was born July 23, 1889, at Florence, Colo. He moved to Tennessee as a small boy, and came to Caddo county at the age of 14. He and Nellie Norman were married April 1912 at Oney. She died in 1960. Survivors include two sons, Aubrey of Ford, Wash. and Van of Mustang; two daughters, Alta Smithpeter of Binger and Christine Snelson of Quinton; two sisters, Pearl Hamilton of Clinton and Eula Hamil. |
