Caddo County, Oklahoma Thursday, February 28, 1929 Samuel Duncan Shultz November 25, 1856 ~ February 21, 1929 Samuel Duncan Shultz was born November 25, 1856 at Nola, Pa., and died at his home near Binger February 21, 1929. At the age of 18 he moved to Nebraska and moved to Ulysses in Butler county. There he was married to Miss Irene Chamberlain on February 23, 1882. This union only lacked two days of lasting forty-eight years. Seven children were born, four of whom survive, twin girls having died in infancy and their only son, Earl LeRoy, having died while serving his country in the World war in the year 1918. Those surviving, besides his faithful wife, are Mabel E. Schultz, May Dittmer, Carrie Jones and Lizzie M. Bennett, one brother and one sister, Wm.. R. Shultz and Sarah Shultz, living in Pennsylvania, also survive; also eight grandchildren. Mr. Shultz moved with his family to El Reno in the year 1899 and from there to his farm near Albert in 1903, where he continued to reside until his death. Mr. Shultz was of an unusually friendly and wherever he went had the faculty of forming close and staunch friendships with his neighbors, and so far as known he had no enemy anywhere--a very unusual record for anyone to leave and for his family to cherish in their memory. He united with the Christian church about 18 years ago and was a faithful and consistent member until his death. Mr. Shultz will be sorely missed by his large circle of friends and neighbors who extend to his faithful life companion and other relatives their most sincere and heartfelt sympathy and condolence in their great loss. Funeral services were conducted by Rev.. J.W. Coat, assisted by members of the Odd Fellows Lodge from Oney. Interment was in the Oney cemetery under the direction of the Anadarko Funeral Home. |
