In Memoriam Of F.A. Lane

Floyd A. Lane was born December 7, 1859 in Columbus county, Arkansas.

He departed this life at Carnegie, Oklahoma on the 6th day of December, 1926. Thus, he lacked one day of being 67 years of age at the time of his demise. Three years before his demise, he suffered a stroke of paralysis in his left arm and patiently bore this and other afflictions until death relieved him of his sufferings.

He was admitted to the practice of law in the state of his nativity. He came to Anadarko, Oklahoma soon after the opening of this county to settlement in 1901 and practiced law in said city until the year of 1907 when he moved to Carnegie where he lived and practiced his profession until the time of his death.

Floyd A. Lane was a member of the old school, and combined honesty and hospitality. He was loved by his friends for his sterling worth and respected by all who knew him as being a man of honor and high character. In his conduct as a man and private citizen, he measured up to high standard of excellence, and possessed the entire confidence of his friends and fellow members of the bar.

We submit this memorial of his death, feeling assured that its sentiments will have the full approval of the members of the Caddo County Bar, and all who knew him. We submit that his death comes ads a matter of personal grief. We hereby express our profound appreciation of the life labors and professional services which were brought to a close by the death of our fellow member Floyd A. Lane.

We most respectfully submit these resolutions to the Bar Association of Caddo County, Oklahoma and move their adoption, and that the said resolutions be spread of record and that copies be sent to the relatives.

C.R. Carswell,
C. Ross Hume,
Theodore Pruett.
