© The Carnegie Herald Carnegie, Oklahoma Wednesday, August 19, 1942 Charles Monroe Francis January 27, 1877 ~ August 17, 1942 Heart Attack Fatal To Chas. M. Francis Charles Monroe Francis, Carnegie, died suddenly on August 17 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Sam Barbee of Talala. He had been visiting in the Barbee hone the past month. Funeral services were held at the Carnegie Pentecostal Holiness church Wednesday at 1:30 with Rev. C. R. Oliver in charge. Final rites were also held at the Highland church near Oney at 3:30 Wednesday. Burial was in the Oney cemetery under the direction of the Pitcher Funeral home. He was converted and became a member of the Baptist church at the age of twenty-one and later became a member of the Pentecostal Holiness church. He filed on a claim about two miles east of Swan Lake in 1901, moved to Iola, and Kansas in 1910, lived in Enid in 1915 and has lived in Carnegie the past six years. Mr. Frances lost his eyesight in 1935. He was preceded in death by his wife March 15, 1939. Survivors include his children, John Franklin Francis of Ringwood; Mrs. Daisy Bell Waller, Union City; Mrs. Molly Angeline Barbee, Las Cruces, New Mex.; Mrs. Myrtle Mae Teague, Carnegie; Glen Charles Francis, Carnegie; William Carter Francis, Dalhart, Texas, Laura Ellen Warthen, Carnegie, and many other relatives and friends including twenty-one grandchildren and one great grandchild. |
© The Carnegie Herald Carnegie, Oklahoma Wednesday, March 22, 1939 Annie Lee [Johnson] Francis February 12, 1882 ~ March 15, 1939 Mrs. Francis' Rites At Highland Church Francis Funeral services were held at the Highland church northeast of here Thursday afternoon for Mrs. C.M. Francis who died at her home here late Wednesday afternoon. Rev. Sammie Isabel, pastor of the Pentecostal church assisted by Mrs. Bessie Adair of Frederick, conducted the service. Annie Johnson was born February 12, 1881. At the time of her death she was 58 years, 1 months and 3 days old. She was married to C.M. Francis December 14, 1902 and in them eight children were born. They are John of Ringwood ; Glenn and Willie of Carnegie; Mrs. Daisy Waller of El Reno; Mrs. Mollie Barbee, Los Cruces, N.M.; Mrs. Myrtle Teague, Carnegie; Mrs. Arna Barbee, Claremore, and Mrs. Laura Warthen of Carnegie. Her mother, three sisters, two brothers and 20 grandchildren and many other relatives also survive. |
