Davis September 20, 1881 ~ March 16, 1971 DAVIS RITES HELD AT ONEY Graveside services were held last Thursday in the Oney Cemetery for Tom E. Davis, 89, who died March 16 at Silvercrest Manor Nursing Home, Anadarko. Rev Les Thompson Jr, pastor of the Fort Cobb United Methodist Church, officiated. Davis was a retired farmer. He was born on September 20 in Downs, Illinois in 1898. He settled on a farm in Fort Cobb and Oney area in 1901 and later moved to Anadarko. |
© Carnegie Herald Carnegie, Oklahoma Wednesday, August 10, 1977 Claude B. Davis December 23, 1997 ~ Aug 3, 1977 DAVIS RITES HELD AT ONEY Funeral services for Claud B. Davis, 79, of Oney were July 30 at the Oney Baptist church with Rev E.L. Merrill, pastor of Oakdale Baptist church, and his brother, Alvis, of Clinton, officiating. Burial was in the Albert cemetery. Davis, a retired farmer, died July 29 in St. Anthony's Hospital in Oklahoma City. Born in Jackson county, Ala, December 23, 1923, he married the former Stella Brence at Anadarko. The couple moved to the Oney area in 1937, where they had lived since. He was preceded in death by two sons, Bruce in 1960 and William in 1970. Survivors include his widow, Stella of the home; four sons, Benjamin C. of Binger, B. Glen of Frankfurt, Ky., K. Leroy of Shawnee and Claud Edward of the home; one daughter, Mrs. J.D. Cook of Oklahoma City; two brothers, Hubert C. of Mountain View and James G. of Azle, Tex.; one step-sister, May Maddox of Hobart; 20 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. |
