Elmer Leroy Cornelius
May 30, 1939 ~ June 8, 2010


Elmer Leroy Cornelius was born May 30, 1939, in Meeker to Lewis and Mabel [Kelly] Cornelius. He died June 8, 2010, at his home in Lookeba at age 71.

He was a member of the Pentecostal Holiness Church, Gracemont.

He did concrete work all over Oklahoma for most of his life. He farmed and raised cattle, and was a longtime resident of the Lookeba and Binger area.

He loved mules and donkeys, and was on the lookout for the perfect pair. He really enjoyed training them to pull a wagon.

Survivors include three daughters, Shannon Hays of Union City, Stacy Diebold of Mustang, and Tracy Chenoweth of Binger; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; five sisters, Alene Green, Cassie Fisher, Helen Britton, Lillian Baker, and Lydya Bybee, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Franklin and Ralph Cornelius, and sisters, Hazel Metcalf, and Ila Lowery.

Services were at Binger Church of God on June 11 with Rev. Gary Green and Rev. Roy Green officiating.

Burial was in Albert-Oney Cemetery, Albert, under direction of Turner Funeral Home, Binger.
