Billy Ray Robinson was born Saturday, November 3, 1928, in Achille, Oklahoma to Henry Lloyd Robinson & Erma Verly (Hopkins) Robinson. He passed from this life on Thursday, July 29, 2010, in Durant, Oklahoma at the age of 81 years, 8 months and 26 days.
Billy married Ruth Ann Whitfield on August 23, 1963 in Bonham, Texas. He worked many years for the county as a heavy equipment operator mostly for the town of Achille, before he retired. Billy was a member of the Achille FFA Alumni. He enjoyed gardening and board games. Billy served as a Deacon at the Murray Hill Freewill Baptist Church and later atteded Calvary Baptist Church in Durant.
He is survived by sons, Terry Don Robinson of Durant, Oklahoma; Ronny Crump and wife Brigitte of Lancing, Kansas; Donny Crump and wife Laura of New Plymouth, Idaho; daughter, Mary (Crump) Stanley and husband Jerry of Durant, Oklahoma; mother-in-law, Bernice Blain of Achille, Oklahoma; aunts-in-law, Betty Bourne of Durant, Oklahoma; Juanita Blackburn of Paris, Texas; 8 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; as well as numerous other family and friends.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Lloyd and Verly (Hopkins) Robinson; sister, Dorothy Robinson; beloved wife of 45 years, Ruth Ann (Whitfield) Robinson.
Family Hour will be from 7-8 P.M. Monday, August 2, 2010 at Holmes - Coffey - Murray Funeral Home.
Graveside services will be held 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, August 3, 2010, Yarnaby Cemetery in Yarnaby , Oklahoma. Rev. Glendal Rushing will officiate.
