Virginia Louise Howard Brackett, age 85, passed away on October 12, 2011, at her residence in Achille, Oklahoma, surrounded by her family.
Mrs. Brackett was born in Georgetown, Arkansas on August 14, 1926.
She was a member of the Yarnaby Assembly of God Church in Yarnaby , Oklahoma.
She loved gardening, quilting, sewing and caring for her family.
Mrs. Brackett worked as a cook and retired from the Yuba ISD in food services.
Mrs Brackett is survived by 2 daughters, Sharron Burns & husband Wayne, Calera, Okla., Yvonne Miller, Oklahoma, 6 sons, Billy Howard and wife Judi, Colbert, Okla, Donald Howard & wife Barbara, California, Danny Howard & wife Shirley, Albany, Okla., Terry Howard & wife Pat, Yuba, Okla., Richard Howard & wife Tina, Ivanhoe, Texas and Randy Howard & wife Shana, Achille, Okla.
She has 5 brothers, John Waggner & wife Lois, Norman, Oklahoma, Bill Waggner, Tennessee, Jim Waggner & wife Twila, Hartshorne, Okla., William Waggner & wife Emiline of Lane, Okla. and Robert Towery of Kansas.
There are 16 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband William Howard in 1980, one daughter, Velma and four brothers.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, October 15, 2011, at 1:00 p.m. at the Yarnaby Assembly of God Church, with Pastor Rick Wren officiating.
Interment for Mrs. Brackett will be at the Yarnaby Cemetery in Yarnaby , Oklahoma.
American Funeral Services of Colbert is in charge of all arrangements.
The family will receive friends and have a visitation on Friday, October 14, 2011, between the hours of 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the American Funeral Services at 107 N. Burney St. in Colbert.
