Leona Bernice Blain, 90, of Colbert, Oklahoma passed away Thursday morning May 30, 2013 at Southern Pointe Living Center in Colbert.

She was born October 4, 1922 in Pirtle, Oklahoma to John Newton and Lola Alice Lance McCurdy. She attended Pirtle schools and married Loyd Whitfield in January of 1940 and to them twin Daughters were born Joyce Anna who passed away at birth and Ruth Ann Whitfield Robinson who passed away September 6, 2008.

She married Harry C. Blain October 26, 1956 and he preceded her in death September 11, 1997. Also preceding her in death were her Parents, Son-in-Law Billy R. Robinson, Brothers Alford, Euless, R.L., and Jack McCurdy, Benjamin (Junior) and Earnest Bourne. Sisters Winnie McCurdy Green and Betty Joyce Bourne.

She was a lifelong Bryan County resident and longtime member of the Murray Hill Freewill Baptist Church in Colbert.

Surviving is One Sister Juanita McCurdy Blackburn of Paris, Texas. Four Grandchildren Ronny Crump and wife Brigitte of Lansing, Kansas, Donny Crump and wife Laura of Caldwell, Idaho, Mary Stanley and husband Jerry and Terry Dan Robinson all of Durant, Oklahoma. Special friends and caregivers Darrell and Onean Gibby of Achille, Oklahoma. Nine Great Grandchildren, Four Great Great Grandchildren and numerous Nieces and Nephews.

A funeral service for Bernice Blain will be held 7:00 P.M. Friday evening May 31, 2013 at Cunningham Funeral Home in Colbert with Reverend Jesse Farrell officiating.

Private burial will follow Saturday in the Yarnaby Cemetery . The register book may be signed and online condolences be made at cunninghamfuneralhomesok.com
