Mr. Alfred Arlen Alley, age 78, passed away at his residence in Hendrix, Oklahoma, on Thursday, August 18, 2011. Mr. Alley was born on May 4, 1933, in Yukon, Oklahoma, to Hershal East & Nova Foster Alley. He married Betty Alley on June 5, 1951 in Noel, Missouri.
Mr. Allen graduated from High School in Noel Missouri and was a carpenter by trade.
He had lived in the Hendrix area the past 32 years and was of the Baptist faith.
He loved fishing and gardening.
He is survived by his wife Betty and eleven children. John Alley & wife Kathy, Joplin, MO, Debbie Soper & husband Bud, Colombus, KS, Carol Coffman & husband Sonny, Anderson, MO, Janet Husky & husband Larry, Springdale AR, Shirley Boman, Pineville, MO, Doug Alley & wife Venus, Siloam, AR, Laura Alley, McKinney, TX, Billy Alley & wife Lori, Bonham, TX, Jimmy Alley & wife Kathy, Yuba, OK, Jeff Alley, Hendrix, OK, Carrie Connelly & husband Mathew, McKinney, TX.
Others surviving are sisters, Helen Russell & Katherine Henley, of CA and Wilma Irving, TN.
He has 27 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Mr. Alley was preceded in death by his parents and one son.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 22, 2011 at the Yarnaby , Oklahoma Cemetery Pavilion with Mr. Marty Hutchins officiating.
Interment will follow at the Yarnaby Cemetery . American Funeral Services of Colbert is in charge of all arrangements.
The family & friends will gather for visitation on Sunday, August 21st between the hours of 6-8 p.m. at the American Funeral Services, 107 N. Burney St. Colbert, Oklahoma.
