Billy Joe Toney, a resident of Calera, Oklahoma passed from this earthly life on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at the age of 88 years 2 months and 12 days. He was born on November 21, 1928 in Albany, Oklahoma to Algie and Lillie Pearl (Pruitt) Toney.
Billy Joe was a member of the Baptist faith. He worked as a general contractor. Billy Joe raised many pug dogs for about 18 years.
Mr. Toney is survived by his wife, Antha Jo Toney of the home; son, Billy Lee Toney and wife Lynda of Bokchito, Oklahoma; daughter, Freda Ann Laycock and husband Ed of Lowell, Arkansas; son, James Randall Toney and wife Pamela of Alva, Oklahoma; step-son, Ray Northcutt and wife Kathy of Texas; 13 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.
Mr. Toney was preceded in death by parents, Algie and Lillie Toney; and brother, Jesse Lee Toney.
Family Hour will be from 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM Friday February 3rd at the Holmes~ Coffey~ Murray Funeral Home in Durant. A chapel service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday February 4th at the Holmes~Coffey~Murray Chapel with Bro. Anthony Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Wolf Creek Cemetery in Utica, Oklahoma. Billy Joe's grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
