Funeral services for Elsie Mae Thompson Collier will be Friday, January 2, 2009, at 10:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Platter, with Bro. Ray Earley officiating. Elsie passed from this life Monday, Decembr 29, 2008, at the Medical Center of Southeastern Oklahoma in Durant.
Elsie was born in Platter on September 26, 1934, to Zack "Dike" and Essie Mae Meade Thompson. She married P. G. Collier in 1973. All preceded her in death.
She worked at the Denison, Texas, Cotton Mill for many years and retired to become a homemaker and to babysit for many friends and family. She loved gardening, canning and cooking for her family.
Elsie is survived by two sisters, Cletus Pratt of Cartwright and Myrtle Wiggington of Sherman, Texas; one brother, Carl Thompson of Platter; ten nieces and nephews, many great-nieces and nephews, cousins, friends and other family members. She will be greatly missed.
Burial will be in Thompson Cemetery in Platter. Pallbearers will be Ricky Pratt, Johnny Thompson, Stacey Thompson, Jason Thompson, Larry Collier and Aaron Thompson. Honorary pallbearers will be Dale Wiggington, Dike Pratt and BoBo Brown.
Coffey-Murray Funeral Home will be open Thursday, January 1, 2009, from 2:00 - 8:00 p.m.
Family hour will be Thursday from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Coffey-Murray Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
