Doyle Ray White, Jr

Doyle R. White, Jr., affectionately known as JR, passed away peacefully on January 22, 2024, in his hometown of Durant, Oklahoma. Born to Doyle Ray White, Sr and Dorthy Mae (Onley) White on January 29, 1967, JR's vibrant spirit and creative soul left an indelible mark on the world around him.

JR's life was a testament to his passion for the arts and his dedication to serving others. He spent many years as a talented florist at Roby's Flowers, where his flair for color and design brought joy to countless individuals. His artistic abilities extended to his work as a cake decorator, interior designer, and hair stylist, where his creativity knew no bounds.

Those who knew JR will remember him as a man who loved to make the world around him more beautiful. He had a knack for transforming the ordinary into the extraordinary, and his warm, generous nature made him a beloved figure in his community.

JR leaves behind a loving family who will cherish his memory: his mother, Dorthy Martin; his brothers, David Williams and his wife Janice, and Michael Williams; his sisters, Rhonda Butler and her husband Ricky, Cindy Mersecchi, and Faith Mitchell and her husband Wilson, all of Durant. He will also be fondly remembered by his stepchildren, DeeDee Sanders, Mike Finley, and Bill Tollett; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. His best friends, Bobby Wells and Scott Stinson, along with his special nurses, Brooke and Blake, will miss his presence deeply.

JR was preceded in death by his father, Doyle Ray White, Sr.; his stepfather, John Larry Martin; his wife, Sharon White; his brothers, James Williams and Marvin Williams; and his stepson, Ray Finley.

Family Hour will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 25, 2024 at Holmes-Coffey-Murray Funeral Home. His funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 26, 2024, at Holmes-Coffey-Murray Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Anthony Williams officiating. JR will be laid to rest at Silo Restland Cemetery following his funeral service.

Those serving as pallbearers are Glen Gayle, Jr., Charlie Paskill, Cole Dooley, Hank Nesbitt, Jason Wright, and Tyler Malone. Honorary pallbearers will be Clinton Don Gayle, Wilson Mitchell, and Michael Mewszel.
