Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Grace Baptist Church, Durant, for Betty Ruth Payne, 51, Durant, who died Sunday, November 11, 2007, at Medical Center of Southeastern Oklahoma. Bro. Anthony Williams will officiate.
She was born Tuesday, July 17, 1956, in Talihina to Donald Payne and Frances Mae Willis.
She participated in Special Olympics for several years, as well as working for a sheltered workshop.
She loved church services, gospel music, playing dominoes, watching the Andy Griffith Show, and her favorite movie was ""Grease". Looking at bridal magazines were also a favorite of Betty's.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Jewel Payne, Ples Payne, Ellen Rose Patterson and Howard Willis and aunt Lyna Hanks.
She is survived by her daddy, Don Payne and wife Bettyof Silo; mother Frances Farrell of Durant; sister, Donna Barber of Durant, half-sister, Debbie Hoover and husband Robert of Durant, half-brothers, David Payne and wife Kristi of Durant, Billy Payne of Sherman, Texas, John Russell of Mead and Joe Russell of Durant; half-sister, Vera Butler of Durant; nephew, Chris Barber and wife Amber of Durant; niece, Crystal Cooper and husband Cory of Mead; special great-nieces, Adyson and Blaklyn Barber of Durant; special great-nephew and niece Camdon and Kenedi Cooper of Mead; and a host of other nieces, nephews and the special extended family with the Oak Ridge Manor staff of the staff 29 years.
Burial will be in Restland Cemetery, Silo, with David Dirickson, Eric Stumpff, Daniel Wesley, Mark Wesley, Gerald Avant, Clint Justus and Gary Burleson serving as pallbearers.
Family hour will be from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Grace Baptist Church Building Fund, 206 E. Main, Durant, Oklahoma 74701.
